Thuan's oldest daughter asked us to design a bed bench combo that would fit in a converted mini school bus. It needed to change from bed to bench and back again with ease. We designed an interlocking slat system the can slide out when it is bedtime and then slide back into the main unit during the day. This then provides two benches. Because maximizing space is a must for tiny house living we also designed areas for plenty of storage. On the bed side, we added two huge slide-out drawers. On the bench side, we designed it as a top opening chest.

This was a great opportunity to design some furniture. We also had to take into consideration that this piece would be built on site with minimal tools.
